    This is a vocabulary app that aims at helping young people, with a good understanding of the English language, the ability to continue to improve. This is a game based app that follows the story of Victor who, living in a castle, has had all of his words taken away by a dragon. It is up to the user to move through the game completing the word exercises in a bit to retrieve them and to help Victor recover all his words.  It is worth mentioning that this is an American app so there are some American spellings of words and some words that would be more known to American children rather than English ones.

    Fabulingua is a Spanish language-learning app that narrates interactive children’s stories.  As the app and the stories progress the child is introduced to more and more new characters, who allow you to interact with Spanish in a variety of different contexts and with engaging personalities.  On-screen, you will see the Spanish storyline and this will be supported by hearing the same story read in Spanish and then in English – working towards a natural reception of bilingualism.

    Number+Sense helps children to develop fluency, speed and accuracy in arithmetic and mathematical reasoning. It does this by using an innovative method whereby players are constantly challenged to improve their skills and are motivated to practice more for continuous progress.

    This app is a story based English Language app that aims, through storytelling, to help users learn the English language. The app has been created and produced by a Czech linguist who in wanting to help others learn different languages came up with the idea of utilising stories to introduce them different languages. Although the app has predominately been created to help those wanting to learn English as an additional language it also has many benefits for young children who are just learning to read themselves.

    Children who play Zoolingo - Preschool & Kindergarten Games will be drawn in by the beautifully drawn and brightly coloured graphics.  Behind them, though, lies a wealth of fun and educational activities to help young children consolidate and develop their learning.

    嘉博国际 ABCya has kept one of its earliest apps alive and updated on iOS devices since 2011.  The Maths Bingo app has been played by many KS2 children to practise division, multiplication, addition and subtraction and, no doubt, Math Bingo and its bingo bugs will maintain its popularity into the future.

    嘉博国际 PhyiscsProf is an app consisting of a large library of Physics equations and allows users to input values and solve these equations at the click of a button. PhysicsProf supports users in solving tricky Physics equations by identifying and rearranging correct equations based on inputted data. Once solved, users are shown the correct step by step method to help understand how to get to the solution which enables individuals to build confidence in eventually solving these unaided. An additional feature of this app is the ability to alter the units of each value, providing a further level of challenge. There are five topic areas within the app, each with a large variety of possible equations ranging from GCSE to post 16 level of difficulty.

    Fact Mountain — 19th-Century British Literature is an app designed to broaden readers' knowledge about classic works of literature. It covers both the content and the background to the book in a series of clues that begin in the obscure and gradually move towards the precise.  How many clues will it take you to identify the book in question?

    This is a free app whose aim is to make reading text as simple as it can possibly be. The app has been been developed by a Japanese company however it is based solely in the English language. To use the app you copy text from any website/webpage onto your phone or ipad and then the open the app. Once you have done so you are able to then read the text as it moves across the screen at whatever pace you chose. Although this is the sole purpose of the app it does allow the user to read text quicker and also helps them to improve their reading speed as they become use to the speed that it travels across the screen.
